Insta-Friday: The Saturday Edition

I’m a day late, but I attempted to be somewhat productive yesterday around the house. Plus, it was way too hot to be sitting on a computer all day, even though I need to play catch up.

Kid is super happy for #blogher12 swag! He said, "Hi mama...can you open your suitcase and so me what you brought home, NOW!"
The kid is very happy with all of the goodies {swag} that I brought back from New York City. He asked where the rest of it was….seriously kid? Ok, I had way too much so I had to mail two boxes back. It arrived yesterday.

He loved the NYPD shirt. #nyc
NYPD shirt. He loved! Win for me!

Love my new patriotic wallet from @Gucci GG Flag Collection. My mommy bought it for me. #olympics
New wallet. My mommy spoils me. My old wallet is 10 years old. I was due for a new one. And perfect timing with the Olympics!

Hello Palm Springs! Hello Heat!
Two-day trip to Palm Springs with family. My parents recently bought a house out there so we will be going there a lot. Although 112 degree heat is not fun.

Who is this kid? Bleach blond hair, dark tan....He has aged so much this summer.
Everything about this kid says, “summer”! Bleached hair from swimming, tan, and no shirt because it is too hot. Carne asada tacos for dinner that night. Yum!

Mike's Black Cherry Hard Lemonade vs. Light Colored Carpeting. #FML
A little accident with a bottle of Mike’s Black Cherry Hard Lemonade and white carpeting. I think we spent about $30 on cleaning products. My mom checked on it today and said the stains look like they are gone. What a nightmare though!

Posing with Big Boy at Bob's Big Boy yesterday. HAD to take a photo!
Posing with Big Boy on the way home yesterday. My son didn’t understand my geekness and that I had to take a picture of him near this.

Watching #BMX on the DVR from Thursday night. #olympics
Watching BMX that was on the DVR from Thursday night. Our life has been consumed by the Olympics the past two weeks. I will be super sad tomorrow night when it is all over.

Wordless Wednesday: Rainbows, Glitter, and an Unicorn

This was my 4th year attending the BlogHer Conference.  Every year I’ve looked forward to Mama Pop’s Sparklecorn Party.  It is my favorite part of BlogHer. But really, the best part is the cake. This year’s cake was made by Charm City Cakes. They always have an awesome unicorn themed cake.   Here are the cakes from previous BlogHer Conferences 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Working Out With Bob Harper

A few weeks before BlogHer, I got an email from BlogHer’s Events about promotions with some of their sponsors during the conference.  They were offering an early morning workout with Bob Harper on Saturday morning.  Bob Harper was going to be at the conference on behalf of Quaker.  If you don’t know who Bob Harper is, well he is kind of a big deal on that little TV show, The Biggest Loser.

Bob Harper-BlogHer11'Doesn’t he look ready to work out? Well he was. Bob was ready to start working out right away. He was not messing around. I kinda love the black shoes and orange laces combo.
Workout with Bob Harper at BlogHer11'Bob had us stretching and “pushing” outselves through the entire workout. I may have whined a little. He called me “party girl” throughout the workout. Honestly, I was not hung over, just really tired. Everyone looks so athletic in this picture.  And it was barely 7am. Bob went around and was making sure that everyone was doing the “moves” properly.  This is no faux-workout. It was hardcore. I was sore the next day.
BlogHer11'-San DiegoWe had a beautiful view of the waterfront from the rooftop area that we were on. I had to take a picture while we were up there.  I’m probably the only one who brought their DSLR with them to the workout.Renee Ross and Bob HarperRenee Ross got up close and personal with Bob during the workout. I think she was his “chosen one” that day. Honestly, Renee was a perfect choice. She kicks butt! And man, they both have some great balance. My quads and calves hurt, just from looking at this picture.
Quaker Oatmeal and Bob Harper Workout Group at The Biggest LoserWe were able to get a group shot of everyone who was present for the early morning workout.  Bob Harper was hiding in the middle of everyone.
Angry Julie and Bob Harper, From The Biggest LoserAnd because I brought my “good” camera, I was able to get a great shot of Bob and I. Yippee. If I had a “Life List”, working out with Bob would probably be on it. I wish Bob could be my personal trainer, because I think I would be a bit more motivated.

Disclosure: I attended a workout with Bob Harper sponsored by Quaker. I received a yoga mat, towel, and a DVD. I was not paid cash for this post. All of the thoughts and ramblings are mine. And really, I should have paid them for the great workout. But honestly, Bob Harper probably charges a whole lot of money for his training sessions and I could not afford him otherwise. So Thanks to BlogHer and Quaker.

Wordless Wednesday: BlogHer11′ Fashion Part 2

I’m participating in What I Wore Wednesday for the second week in a row. Don’t worry, this is not going to be a pattern.  I figured I would post some pictures of my outfits since I had Kelly take some pictures while we were at BlogHer. I’m a little traumatized over my fat rolls and my meaty arms in these pictures. The hardcore workouts start as soon as I’m back from vacation.

Project 365: Week 31

I started off the week with getting my hair colored, and ended the week with the BlogHer Conference.  It went fast and now I’m trying to recover.  I have to take some time to collect my thoughts, and edit my photographs.  Of course, this is a busy week, yet again.

Friday Favorites: Pre-BlogHer Link Party

Next weekend I will be in San Diego attending the BlogHer Conference. I will be hanging out with my roommates Kelly and Laurie. This will be my 3rd BlogHer Conference and their first.  BlogHer can be a bit overwhelming just because there will be a ton of people attending (over 3000), and it can get chaotic.

I wrote a humorous post over a week ago comparing Blog Conferences and Sorority Rush, but really, it is not that scary. I think the #1 thing that you can do while at a conference is meet people and introduce yourself.

So let me introduce myself!

AngryJulie in Action by ForTheMommas dot comI’m Julie, and sometimes people call me “Angry Julie”.

I’m in my mid 30’s, married, and have a 6 year old son. I live in Orange County, CA. No, I am not a Real Housewife of Orange County. I’m not sure that I can even qualify to be a Housewife. I work full-time outside of the home. Amongst the chaos of having a 6 year old and working, I like to take photos. I am a Nikon girl, so don’t try to convert me to that other brand that starts with a “C”.

I like to dress up like a girly girl at blog conferences so you might see me in dresses. When I’m on my own time, I’m usually wearing jeans, t-shirts, and my Rainbow flip flops.

This picture was taken of me last year. I really need to get a new profile picture. I’m a year older now, and not quite as tan. I even use a different camera.

I hope to meet you while at BlogHer. Please come introduce yourself!! I promise to be nice….

I figure that you might want to meet other people attending BlogHer 2011 also. I’m starting this today so that you can go and check out the blogs and sites of other attendees.

So if you are going to BlogHer, please link up, and visit some other bloggers and Twitter peeps whom are attending.

That Moment

My friend, Shannon, took this photo of me in August.  I was in New York City for BlogHer.  I was outside photographing the line for SocialLuxe Lounge.  I had been up at least twenty hours, flown a red eye, ran around NYC like a crazy woman, and was just starting a busy night.

It was my first time in New York, and it was a whirlwind weekend.  I wish I would have taken more time to enjoy it.  As I was standing here, in the middle of the street, I was seeing friends and faces that I had not seen for over a year, since BlogHer09′.  I could hear the blaring horns and the traffic behind me.  It was amazing being in such a big city.

I hope that I can take a trip to NYC again someday, and enjoy it a little bit more.

I currently have this photo as my “About”, because it really says so much about me.  I’m wearing a headband, holding a camera, wearing purple, and I had fabulous hair that day.

I’m writing this post for #Reverb10

December 3 – Moment.

Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors).
