I’m a slacker. Well, not really. But summer has gotten the best of me. I barely open my laptop, and use my desktop mostly. I’ve been slow to respond to emails, and editing pictures, well, who has time for that? In between the pool, the beach, BBQ’s, and everything else….time is flying by. I finally decided to sit down and edit some photographs tonight. Here is the DSLR, or Nikon D700, version of the 4th.

This is pretty much what I saw when I was looking for my son on the 4th of July. He has been on water slides at a hotel before, but a water slide at a house? Let’s just say my son was hooked. Oh, and the diving board next to the slide, that was his BFF for the day.

Total gluttony. Hot dogs, beer, and cupcakes. With a little Coca Cola thrown in. Sounds so All American doesn’t it? I hope someone recycled all those bottles.

It is time for fireworks, time to get out of the pool. No, you come and get me!!! The kid wanted to stay in the pool FOREVER.

You have to admit, my husband’s friends came prepared. They kid had earplugs in his ears. And the sparkler, well he wasn’t impressed.

We started off slow…seriously this was slow. It was safe, it flowed, and then it ended.

While our personal fireworks got a bit wild (at least we thought we were), people down the street with sending things like this in the year. Yes, someone from a house shot these into the sky. This was NOT a professional display.

More smoke and fire, the handheld kind that is…

And one last view from the sky. This display was at the end of a cul-de-sac. No joke.
I wasn’t that prepared to take photos of fireworks. I wanted to be a little more chill this year. I use my 50mm prime lens. And no tripod. I’m a total slacker!
