Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Wishing Everyone A Happy Valentine’s Day Today!

I volunteered in Angry Kid’s class today. We split the 1st graders into three different groups. They each had a project to do. Our project was sewing this puppy puppet with yarn. It was super complicated for the kids to figure out so most of the puppets were sewn by the moms. I thought it was super cute though.

We chose to do these Fish Bowl Valentine’s from PBJandJ which I found through Pinterest and Etsy. I wonder how many other moms did Valentine’s Day Cards via a blog or Pinterest idea? I gave Angry Kid several options and he picked these. I just had to figure out how many Swedish Fish to buy. Seriously, it required a mathematical equation for Swedish Fish. Luckily Target had a 1.9 Lb. bag.

Hello to chaos in my life. When you realize that you haven’t trained for that half marathon that you signed up for, and that it is better than you don’t run. Things that happen when you are an adult. Sometimes it is better to sell/pass on your race number bib to someone who really wants to run.

I’m super sad that I did not get to run the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon at Disneyland. It was the first one.

Visiting the Run Racing booth at the Tinkerbell Race Expo was entertaining. Just standing there provided some awesome people watching. One of my favorite questions posed to them was, “so Long Beach, this is a race for running?” I’m pretty sure that I attracted the freaks to their booth.

Hello to Race Medal Display and new hooks in the home office.

I purchased the Race Medal Display from Sport Hooks at the Tinkerbell Expo. I dug up some of my medals, and also some of Angry Kid’s. I figure that this is a visual reminder/motivation for both of us.

I love the BLECKA hooks from IKEA. We have them several places throughout our house. They are super strong if mounted right. Angry Husband always screws them into the stud or uses drywall anchors. My backpack is not light. It has my laptop and several other things in it.

Hello CHA Show!

On Sunday, I attended the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show in Anaheim with my friend, Kim. Kim makes lampwork beads and also sells bead supplies on etsy. Kim took me along as her photographer for the day, plus she knows I love crafts.

Hello There Purple Peacock.

Let me re-phrase this, Purple Paper Peacock. YES, this peacock was made with paper products. It is amazing to see all of the cool stuff that can be made with paper crafts.

I saw so many cool things at CHA yesterday. I must go through all of my pictures and catalogs first. I will be doing some upcoming posts with all of the goodness that I saw.

Seriously, CHA was AMAZING!

Wordless Wednesday: Dole’s 2012 Rose Parade Float plus The Queen and Her Court

I have lived in California my entire life, that is 36 years if you are counting folks. I have never gone to the Rose Parade, nor have I participated in float building, and seeing any of the actual floats. I always watch it from my comfy couch in my jammies in the warmth of my home. But I got an opportunity a week ago to view some of the Rose Parade Floats, and even prep some seeds, etc. for Dole’s 2012 Rose Parade Float “Preserving Paradise”.

Upon arrival to the event at Fiesta Parade Floats headquarters, I was met by this VERY large elephant. This elephant was at the front of Dole’s 2012 Rose Parade Float.

Do you want to see what the rest of the float will look like? Here a graphic design of it. Isn’t it beautiful? I love all of the colors, and cannot wait to see it on TV!

Here are some more views of the float. I couldn’t capture the entire float because there were people everywhere, and I’m a bit OCD about my photos. Plus, I had my 50mm lens on, which has limitations.

We got to participate in some preliminary float decorating. The early decorating is done with seeds. The flowers are done at the very last to preserve freshness.
Angry Kid joined in on the fun, and got some face painting, and well, arm painting. He never turns down face painting.

And of course, we got a group picture of all the bloggers with the Rose Queen and her Court.
