Totally Rad Running Songs

So you are probably already thinking, “oh great another running post, yawn”. But really this is more of a “really awesome music” type of post. And ya, maybe, you could even run or workout to it!

I could not run without music, or my Garmin. I do not run Amish! Seriously, I’m not sure if I could go a mile without stalking my pace, or loud music paving my way. I also don’t run with headphones or earbuds, unless I’m at the gym. I usually put my iPhone in my fuel belt and blast the music at it’s loudest. I may wince a little with the songs with the explicit lyrics come on though.

I’ve compiled a list of some of the raddest songs that I have on my iPhone currently. Some are old songs, some are new. But they work for me, and maybe they could work for you?

Thank you so much for this list. Best one I've found yet :)

I love running to Eminem, especially Lose Yourself.

This is golden Julie! LOL! LOve it!

You should also do a "what not to run with" song list. My husband ran the LA Marathon in 2004. His first marathon and one of the hottest marathons on record. Song playing at the start, RUNNING ON EMPTY. Ha ha.

Great list Julie! I love how you have a little bit of everything - from Kanye to Metallica, Skrillex to Journey. Great variety! Maybe we could work on putting together a DJ mix of this? At RockMyRun we create DJ mixes made for running to help keep you energized & motivated and this could be a cool project to work on together. Shoot me a note at adam at, lets chat!

I agree, rad and random playlist! Check these out, you might like them: Electrobotic by Pyro Fighter, We Are the Stars by Janine the Machine, and Dance (The Way it Moves) by The DNC. Nikki

This also doubles as a Totally Rad Overnight Road Trip Playlist...which I will be hijacking and loading into my phone for my trip this week. Minus the shoving of buy things and the quick like leg moving. ;)

Totally LOVES that you have LIke a G6 on there! That is my shameless motivator song! Everyone thinks I'm crazy but I LOVES it! (intention random unnecessary "s" on loves) Now get to moving...Quick Like! HA! I like that :)

My favorite booster song was "I'm Not Afraid" by Eminem. I have it in my everyday playlist, where it would come on around mile 3, to get me over the hump. And again in my Marathon playlist, it would come on at around mile 3, and then again around mile 10. Great booster song. :)

Great playlist. I would have to add some Missy Elliot in there - Get Ur Freak On or Work It

I told you it was good. It is really my car jam list. That turned into a running list.

I forgot to add that one. I probably have every one of Eminem's albums.
