Road Runner Sports VIP Holiday Party

Last Thursday, I attended the “VIP Christmas Party” at Road Runner Sports in Laguna Hills. Ironically, I went to the event, after I had ran. I was quite proud of myself for getting home, and then getting out the door for a 4-mile run right away.

But how does one get VIP status with Road Runner Sports?

Super easy! You pay $1.99 for your first year and you get the following: 10% off year round, free shipping, and other perks throughout the year!

When I arrived at the party, I saw that there was a long line to get in. I patiently waited in line so that they could check my name off of the RSVP list. By RSVP’ing ahead, we were given two (2) raffle tickets for prizes that would be given out throughout the event.

After checking in, I walked around and met with some of the vendors. There were representatives from several local businesses {Cross Fit, Physical Therapy, Road Races) plus some running shoes companies. While talking to the vendors, I ran into Heather and Sarah.

Heather, Sarah, and I had intense discussions with shoe vendors about all of the different types of running shoes that we’ve worn, switched to, and are currently fixated on. It seems that these running shoe companies like to change up or discontinue our beloved favorite shoes causing us {runners} to completely panic!

Oh and in between talking to people and checking out the vendors, I was snacking along the way, and collecting more raffle tickets. Yippee!!! I had an obsession {bad Julie} with the licorice at the New Balance table.

I met some new running friends that night, and had tons of laughs. Getting this photo taken of us was totally awkward. I didn’t realize how difficult it could be to use a point and shoot. Beware of un-techy people when you ask someone to take a group photo.

I also was excited to have my hair finally blond again. Seriously, Tera did a great job and I vow to not let my roots get that bad again. Oh, and I wore my new Devotion shirt from Lululemon. I had to get it tailored (free!) because I have short t-rex arms, and basically I’m short. Lululemon likes to make things for tall thin people with long appendages. Luckily, they do 24-hour tailoring. Just remind me to not wear a light colored bra next time I wear that shirt…just sayin’!

Oh, and speaking of raffle prizes at the event, I won! I won a pair of Injinji socksYippee!! I love winning things!! I also have some coupons still from the event that I haven’t used yet. I need to go back to Road Runner anyway, because I need a shirt for the Santa Run on Saturday.
