I admit it, I use Picnik.com for photo editing. I’m super lazy, and super busy. Picnik will be going away in early April, and I am SUPER sad about that. I should have figured out Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements, etc. long ago, but I did not. So now I’m trying to catch up and learn another program. I have Lightroom and Photoshop Elements installed on my Macbook, but I have never used them.
Seriously, I have no time to do this right now, but I have to learn. So I will be reading every tutorial and book that I can.
Wish me luck!!!

I never used Picnik so no fess from me. I use Photoshop Elements and can get by. I should probably try and learn more about it!
I use Picnik too and I’m really sad/nervous/annoyed that it’s closing up shop! I need to start working on my backup plan!

I am going to miss Picnik so bad!! I wish you luck with Lightroom. I would love to learn how to use that too.
For now I am going to give Photoshop Elements a go.

Good luck! PS can be very daunting at first, but you’ll be so excited every time you figure out something new.

Never a Picnik user, but I’ve taken the last 3 or 4 weeks to learn PSE. I really like it a lot. I’ve been learning a lot from Amanda’s Everyday Elements blog – http://everydayelementsonline.com/. I’m sure I’m only using about 5% of PSE’s functionality right now, but I am very happy so far.

I’m sad about it too. I’ve heard Lightroom is good. I use elements.

Lightroom is AWESOME! I used Photoshop exclusively for editing and then Lightroom came along and changed my entire world a couple years ago. It seriously saves me more time than I could have imagined and I now do 95% of all editing for my blog images in Lightroom. I only go to Photoshop for some of the really small details. And Lightroom isn’t difficult either – the interface just looks a little intimidating at first. Good Luck – I’m pretty much positive you’ll LOVE it

Good luck! I’ve always used PhotoShop CS5, but I’m sure there’s a lot I still need to learn about it.

I’m going to miss Picnik SO MUCH! I fumble with PS, but I’m such a dunce with it, it takes forever to get the simplest things done.

What do you think about doing a tutorial series?

I’ve heard that lightroom is so much better for photo editing and PSE is better for creating blog buttons/banners? I don’t know. I have PSE and have no idea how to use it. LOL!!

I am super sad about Picnik too.
I’m too cheap and too lazy to figure out Adobe. I’ve heard Be Funky is pretty cool.

Ligthroom is the most super easy to learn. The first editing software i’ve ever learned is this, LR and super user friendly, you won’t end up getting lost just by exploring every features in it
Goodluck and i am sure you will love it once you’ll learn it

Picnik is the only photo editing program that I know and I’m super sad as well. Let us know how it goes with Lightroom and if you think it is easy to use.

I have used Lightroom for a year now and love it. I can’t wrap my head around the Photoshop layers and all that, but I picked up Lightroom fairly easily!
just like everyone else has said, lightroom is extremely easy. also…don’t know if it will be around forever, but google+ took on an editing tool that is almost identical to picnik. check out this post i did: http://www.sixcherriesontop.com/2012/01/editing-photos-what-should-i-use.html

Thanks for all the comments on PE vs Lightroom. I have Photoshop but don’t use it either. I need something to watermark pictures–totally missed the Picnik boat. Yikes! I think a tutorial is in order.
Picnik going bye bye makes me want to break out in hives. I really can’t even think about it. Counting on another dumb dumb replacement.

I’m just as sad as you are. I love picnik and hate to see them go. If I know of something that’s similar, I’ll know who to inform
