Things I’ve Never Done

It seems like “Life Lists” are the new black.  But I cracked up when Mama Kat made a Writer’s Prompt, based on a blog post from The Pioneer Woman.

So of course, I had to do something similar.

I’m 35 years, 11 months, and 6 days old.

And I’ve never:

1.  Used Photoshop to edit my photographs

HalloweenTime at DisneylandPhotographed/Edited in Picnik by Me.

2.  Had a cup of coffee

3.  Gotten a passport

4.  Used a sewing machine

5.  Gone on a cruise

6.  Ironed a shirt

My dry cleaning. Hanging in my son’s shower. No ironing by me.

7.  Ran a 1/2 Marathon

8.  Traveled out of the country

9.  Grown a vegetable garden

10.  Painted a room completely by myself

Angry Husband painting the closetAngry Husband painting my son’s closet.

11.  Been Surfing

12.  Had hair longer than the middle of my back

13.  Been to Walt Disney World

14.  Made a pie

15.  Made jelly and/or jam

16.  Cooked a turkey by myself

17.  Been on  a “stripper” pole

18.  Played a musical instrument

19.  Eaten Nutella

20.  Learned to whistle

21.  Made any of Babble dot com’s Top 50 lists

22.  Written any type of Life List

#6 makes me jealous. #2 makes me want to weep and cry and pull clumps of hair from my skull. WHY, GOD, WHY? Why is there a person on this earth who has never experienced the beauty of coffee??? (I feeling similarly about #13.) #17? Me neither! AND RATHER PROUD OF IT, THX.

Seriously? Stop what you're doing RIGHT NOW, go to the store, buy a container of Nutella and some pretzel sticks/or Hell toast works too, TRY IT OUT. DO IT.

You are one deprived women. I would say the only thing I haven't done is the stripper pole, but I remember the tetherball pole as a child and I played on it, swinging around. So I feel pretty good about myself now.

Wait a cotton pickin' minute! If you've never been to Disney World, where did you get that picture you didn't photoshop in #1? Busted! Now I don't believe you about the stripper pole either. C'mon, just tell us your stripper name. We won't tell anyone... not even Babble.

Too funny, I have a lot of the same things on my list that you do!

Go out and buy a jar of nutella. Right now.

I've never been on a stripper pole and my husband would NEVER trust me to paint a room by myself. I can live without my coffee if tea is an option but I gotta agree with the other bloggers: TRY NUTELLA! It is simply decadent and eaten in moderation is such an incredible gift to your taste buds...unless you are allergic to nuts or chocolate. In that case, it tastes like mud and you should stay away from it. Loved your list! :)

Well, you could afford to skip a lot of things on that list but nutella is a must :)

Stripper Pole!! OMG love it... I've never been in one either. You must try Nutella, soooo yummy....And no ironing for me either, except for Girl Scout patches for Mini Me :-)

I don't iron either-and my mom nags me about it at least once a week. How can you survive without coffee? I think I would die. But I did love your list!

I tried the pole once. I fell. And I've painted an entire room by myself. Only to have my angry husband go back over it b/c it was horrible. Ya shoulda done it when I asked.

I'm loving reading these this morning! I highly recommend coffee and nutella. I have been on the pole (mom's group outing). It was fun but they make you wear stilettos, and I just could not get used them :)

My guess is that being on a stripper pole is highly overrated but coffee? Is not. Go to Starbucks today and get yourself a pumpkin spice latte!

I have never made a turkey either. It doesn't look hard, but thankfully I have always had some place else to go for Thanksgiving.

I've been on a stripper-like pole. Because I took one of those exotic dancing classes. NOT because I was earning my way through college. I don't iron either. I've actually taken clean clothing to the dry cleaners to have them taken care of. And, when too lazy to go to the dry cleaners I just opt to never wear an unironed shirt again. It is a sickness. I know!

This was such a great post and a great prompt. I think I'm gonna do this, too!

No Nutella!?! Baby, you don't know what you are missing, you are depriving yourself from some good eats (unless you have an allergy or something)

We share some nevers although you surprise me on the surfing, girl! I am getting my first passport this month (woot!) Never been on a Babble list. Never been to Europe. Never run a 1/2 marathon, either. Never been on a stripper pole, although my 6-year-old referred to dancing on the rail at the swimming pool as pole dancing. YIKES! ;)

Of course I got stuck on number 2 but then realized we have a lot in common. i always start the painting projects that my husband ends up finishing - and I've never touched a sewing machine let alone know how to use one!

We have several "I Nevers" in common. :)

Seriously, I need to learn to iron. And yea, I'm a non-coffee weirdo. I'm sure that I save a ton of money. #17, stripper pole..those pole fitness classes are way popular around here.

The photo is from Disneyland. I live about 15 minutes away. Haha, I will have to think about my stripper name.

I had to throw in the Babble List on my post. I'm pretty rad at Twitter and never get on any cool lists for it.

Thanks for commenting. You are spot on with everyone else who commented.

The common thread in the comments in this post is that I have to try Nutella. I will soon.

Julie {Angry Julie}

Ya, seriously, I think going on a stripper pole has got to be one of those life-list things, right? Going to try Nutella, and ya ironing. Not for me.

Julie {Angry Julie}
Julie {Angry Julie}

My mom has never ironed. I think I got my bad habit from her. I drink other forms of caffeine. I think that I'm just not a warm drink person.

Julie {Angry Julie}

I always make my husband paint, which he hates. From now on, I'm hiring out. We found a good local painter that is pretty in-expensive and much better than fighting with my husband.

Julie {Angry Julie}

Stilettos are not my friend. And I am going to try Nutella soon, I promise. Coffee is another addiction that I don't want to start.

My husband made two turkeys last year. One big one, and one in the crockpot.

I'm totally laughing at your justification for the stripper pole. I love that you are a non-ironer like me. We both have a sickness...

I think it was an awesome prompt. One of this week's prompts is the things that you have done.

I know, surfing...hello, I live in California, right? I moved to the beach area when I was like 11. Which is So Cal terms is way late to learn surfing. Congrats on getting a passport. And the rest of your I-nevers, make me laugh.

I'm glad that we have things in common. At least I know that I am not the only one...

Julie {Angry Julie}

Yay, I'm on someone's Top Twitter list. Painting is no good for me. I need to learn to iron. Passport is on my list. My husband actually has an application on our desk. Dr. Pepper is my coffee.
