I’ve noticed a pattern in the past few months with Reality TV Shows, and the State of New Jersey. I know of three shows in particular. I may have watched these shows. Ok, I admit it, I’ve seen all of these shows, every episode. But what is the draw? Do people want to live in New Jersey? Is it a happening place? Or is it that their culture is a bit different from the rest of the U.S.?
The Real Housewives of New Jersey
Bravo started “The Housewives” series with my very own Real Housewives of Orange County, and traveled through various other cities, New York, Atlanta, and New Jersey. I admit though that the New Jersey housewives are my favorite though. I think they are the “most real” of them all. They don’t tip toe around each other. They tell it like it is. I think it is almost like watching “The Sopranos” in a reality TV version. I faithfully watch it every Monday now.
Jersey Shore
I did not hear anything about the show “Jersey Shore” until it had been on for a few weeks. I starting hearing it about it slowly from my favorite place to get my daily news, you know the one, Twitter. People were ranting about how obnoxious this show was. I admit it, I was drawn into watching it. I watched episode by episode on MTV.com. I just shook my head while watching it. I remember how reality TV has evolved. I watched the first Real World. It is amazing how MTV has changed since then. I swear all of their shows are about filming their cast members “hooking up” with each other. I think they probably even encourage it, for more ratings. Even my mom has mentioned “Snooki” in conversation. I politely rolled my eyes at her.
Jerseylicious
This is my favorite “New Jersey” show ever! It is on the Syle Channel. This show is about a New Jersey Hair Salon called the “Gatsby”. This salon has mother/daughter owners, with quite a collection of “characters” for employees. Between their overly teased hair, long fake nails, tanning, an abundance of make-up, and animal print clothing, you’ve got some entertainment. I watched every episode on my iPhone. It was so good that yes, I paid for it via iTunes. I kinda love that cat fights between Olivia and Tracy too. They are classic frenemies.
Have you watched any of these shows?
Are you addicted to the “Jersey” shows as much as I am?
Are you over these shows and the rest of these reality style TV shows?

You forgot that show about the Jersey girls who run a bridal shop! I really don’t watch it so I don’t know the name, and I’m too lazy to look it up. But it DOES exist!
I watch these on On Demand when I can’t sleep. They’re like a car wreck on the highway – you just can’t look away.
I had never heard of Jerseylicious, but luckily enough there is a marathon on tomorrow-I know where I will be!
oh reality TV, how do I love thee? the jersey shows are the best cause they are just a *little* different than how the rest of the world lives. Not like reality TV is actually based on reality- but there just something about those Jerseyites that draws in a west coast girl like no other “reality” show can…
I love reality shows and I have to agree that the Real Housewives of NJ is the best one. I’ve only seen Jerseylicious once and haven’t seen it since but what I did see was fantastic
I got hooked on Jersey Shore after hearing so many of my friends on FB talk about it so I had to check it out. LOVED IT!!! Jersey Shore was and is like a train wreck and I can’t get enough of it! I can’t wait for the new season!
I love the Housewives of New York the most. And New Jersey.
Jersey Shore? That show was terrible. Though I did DVR every single episode.
But have you seen Jerseylicious? YOU NEED TO!
yea, over them. Rarely have time ofr much tv anyhow…but when I DO watch reality, it’s usually Tori and Dean.
I have never seen Tori and Dean. I feel like a freak because of that.
***LOVE*** Jerseylicious!!!
