Ode to plastic cash

I’m a plastic cash kinda gal. I never have actual cash in my wallet. If I do, it’s very rare.

So last week, I noticed that my debit card was missing from my wallet. I could remember that the last time I used it was to order some pizza. I searched our entire house looking for it.

I finally got frustrated and cancelled it. Well, you know what happens when you do that? Right? As soon as a I got home from the bank, I found it under a pile of stuff in our office. Angry Toddler got up really early one day last week and I found him playing in the office. I think he took my debit card out of my purse.

So I’ve had to take money from the bank every few days, $20 here, $20 there. It’s been quite frustrating.

Well, my new debit card came today. YAY! But, I’ve been trying to call my bank to activate it and I kept getting a busy signal. Well, I finally called a different number and they advised me that whole bank is down to a power outage. The guy said that it’s a weather related power outage in Virgina. My bank is a Credit Union based out of Virgina. He said their system should be back up sometime tomorrow.

ARGH, what a pain! I lost mine at the mall last month, and the 10 day wait for the new card was hell!

Been there done that….hell, I don’t even carry a quarter in my purse….kids are always asking for change when we go out, for those little toy/candy machines….they need to invent them with a debit card swiper..lol…I use my debit card for everything….even if it’s just a cup of coffee…I have had to replace mine several times, like Jennifer said, the wait for a new one is hell.
